Hello Foodies!
This is the start of a fantastic journey that I want you all to come on with me as I explore the world of food. I will be posting my favourite recipes straight from the Little Gated Kitchen to you.
My life in the kitchen is a story in itself. I learnt to cook from a young age as I helped my mum with dinner prep while she was at work. I always remember coming home from school to a list on the kitchen bench with things to do neatly written down. Everything from prepping vegetables to cooking potatoes or rice. I used to love doing this as I was learning what worked well and what I could improve on.
When the option came up at both Primary School and Highschool to do cooking classes or something similar I always put my hand up. I remember doing a cooking class in Primary School and we learnt how to make yummy Chocolate Crackles and White Christmas. In High School it had progressed to Soup and Pizza, but it wasn't until after school that I had more time to experiment in the kitchen on my own terms. I still to this day spend most weekends in the kitchen conjuring up new recipes or adapting old favourites.
My friends and family all know that I am my best when I am in the kitchen., and further down the road it is a dream to open a quiet little cafe in my home town of Toowoomba, nestled away in a lane way or on the corner of a peaceful street and serve up beautiful coffee and delicious meals for Breakfast and Lunch.
So this is where it starts, and I want as many people as possible to find their way here, (if you're reading this already welcome) and learn a thing or two from what I know about cooking and my love for it.
One more thing...You will notice things changing on this website very shortly, even though this is my first post. I am getting a website professionally built and logo designed that is reflective a little more of me and my kitchen.
